Get ready for a spook-tacular showcase of creativity in Hinckley Town Centre!

This Halloween, businesses across the town centre will be transforming their shop windows with hauntingly good displays as part of the Hinckley BID Best Dressed Halloween Window Display Competition.

👻 How to Take Part Visit Hinckley Town Centre throughout October and look out for the fantastic Halloween-themed window displays created by local businesses.

📸 View the Entries Photos of all participating displays will be uploaded to the Hinckley BID Facebook page, where residents and visitors can admire the creativity and Halloween spirit on show.

🏆 Winner Announcement The winning business will be revealed on Thursday 29th October 2026.

Whether it's spooky, spooky-cute, creepy, colourful, or downright frightening, we can't wait to see the effort our town centre businesses put into making Hinckley a Halloween destination for all ages.

Follow the clues and find 11 spooky ghouls hiding in business windows around the town centre. It’s a FREE family activity, perfect for Halloween half-term.

How to take part

Collect your FREE Clue Guide from:

Alternatively, download and print your Clue Guide at home from the link below.

Remember to bring a pen! You’ll need to write down the name of each ghoul as you follow the trail.

Once you have found all 11 ghouls, take your completed form to YiaYia Bakes to receive your sweet treat and enter the FREE Prize Draw.

A new exhibition using UV ‘blacklight’ to make artworks glow will open during October half term, with local artists invited to submit work for display.

Call for artists: Artists who would like to be considered for inclusion in Ultra Vibrant are invited to submit work for review and delivery on 13–14 October. This is your invitation to spend a lively, nostalgic night at a local Northern pub. Join the bickering Landlord and Landlady—a married couple who serve up drinks and cutting remarks in equal measure.  As they navigate the evening shift, their pub becomes a stage for the local community. This poignant and very witty play takes audiences into the world of one working-class pub over the course of one night.

The fang-tastic event will be back in the town centre on Saturday 31 October, from 10am until 3pm. It will take place in Hinckley’s haunted Britannia Shopping Centre and promises fun for the entire family.

Those brave enough to visit can enjoy a range of FREE activities, including the ever-popular pumpkin bowling and a themed stilt walker. Little ones can also take part in creepy crafts before having freaky face paint stencilled onto ghostly faces.

Anyone attending is encouraged to come in their best Halloween fancy dress, with prizes for the creepiest costume handed out on the day. All children who wear fancy dress will receive a Halloween medal (subject to availability) and the best dressed competition with trophies to be won will be judged at 12pm by Mayor of Hinckley and Bosworth, Cathie Gibbens.

Local radio station Fosse 107 have also joined the haunting and will be providing a spooky soundtrack to the day, with visitors able to dance along to Thriller, Monster Mash, Ghost Busters, Haunted and much more.

The annual Remembrance Sunday parade and service, held in honour of those who have fought for their country in conflict.

Residents are invited to pay their respects at Hinckley’s annual Remembrance Sunday service on Sunday 8 November at the Argents Mead war memorial.

Led by Reverend Ian Hill of St Mary’s Church, the service will begin just before 11am and will include contributions from local churches, the Royal British Legion, veterans’ groups, civic leaders and youth organisations.

Parades will take place before and after the service, and all are welcome to attend. The parade will begin at 10:15am, followed by a service that will take place at Hinckley War Memorial, Argents Mead, starting at 11am. Visitors are asked to arrive at the memorial gardens by 10.45am.

Join us for an evening celebrating the performing arts with one of Hinckley’s oldest dance schools. Featuring talented performers of all ages, the show includes ballet, tap, jazz, acro, musical theatre and more. We hope you enjoy this celebration of creativity, dedication and passion.

Come and see the Christmas lights through Argents Mead.

Thousands of twinkling fairy lights in hues of green, blue and pink will adorn the trees, pathways and bandstand in Argents Mead from Friday 20 November 2026 until Wednesday 6 January 2027.

The 'Lights in the Mead' will be turned on in zones on the night of Hinckley's Christmas Light Switch-on from 5pm on Friday 20 November 2026, with all the lights being on in the Mead from 6:30pm until late that evening.

'Lights in the Mead' will then be on daily, every evening thereafter (Saturday 21 November 2026) until Wednesday 6 January 2027, alongside the town centre's Christmas lights and Christmas tree in the marketplace.

The big switch-on of the Christmas lights in Hinckley

Live entertainment will start at 4pm on Friday in Market Place with a range of food vendors, market stalls and street entertainment, followed by a staggered switch-on of the light trail in Argents Mead. The lights around the town centre will be turned at 6:30pm. The main town event will finish at 8pm.

Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council invites local disabled and elderly care home residents to come into Hinckley to see the Christmas lights.

Letters have been sent out to these premises to invite their residents and carers to the free event.

This show will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of The Beatles’ final world tour and last scheduled live performances in the UK.  From The Cavern to the Rooftop in an evening of nostalgia.  A night for all with the songs that we all know and love!

It was back in November 2014 when The Backbeat Beatles first staged a concert at the Concordia and December 2026 will mark their fifth visit to Hinckley. This show will celebrate the 60th Anniversary of The Beatles’ final world tour and last scheduled live performances in the UK.  From The Cavern to the Rooftop in an evening of nostalgia.  A night for all with the songs that we all know and love!

Wrap up warm and join in the spirit of Christmas by singing well-known carols around the town centre Christmas tree.

Churches Together and Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council invite you to Hinckley Carols around the tree, which will be taking place at 4:15pm in the Market Place in Hinckley. 

All are welcome to attend.
