Tenancy Management Officer

Contract Commercial position at Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council

Grade 6, £27,041 up to £31,346 per annum, pro rata plus an essential car user allowance
37 hours per week, 12 month fixed term contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a member of staff within the Housing and Community Safety team to provide frontline customer focussed housing service, working within the Tenancy Management Team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with a variety of tenancy management issues across their patch. This can include but is not limited to; maximising rental income, enforcing the tenancy conditions, supporting and signposting vulnerable tenants and dealing with sensitive issues.

Candidates must have excellent organisational skills, the ability to communicate well at all levels; have initiative, work well in a team and have experience of working with vulnerable people. You will be dealing with sensitive issues both on the phone and by interviewing members of the public. Candidates will also be required to work both from the office and within tenant’s’ homes on a regular basis.

You should also have the ability to be conversant with Microsoft Office and have the flexibility needed to conduct some out of hours working.

The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS check and must hold a current driving licence with access to a vehicle.

Grounds Maintenance Team Leader

We are committed to providing cleaner, greener neighbourhoods with safe and exciting green spaces that are both valued and used by all aspects of the community. To help achieve this we wish to recruit an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative with leadership experience within a team to manage and maintain a highly motivated and valued grounds maintenance team.

Working as part of a mobile team you will lead a small team and carry out all aspects of gardening, grounds maintenance and other horticultural at a number of sites throughout the borough, working in an outdoor environment all year round.

Duties include:

  • Leading a small team of grounds maintenance operatives
  • Fine turf and sports turf maintenance
  • Application of pesticides
  • General gardening duties such as maintenance of flower beds, digging, grass cutting, hedge cutting, forking, hoeing, hand weeding bedding, bulbs and shrubs etc…
  • Use of horticultural machinery and grass cutting machinery
  • Hard and soft landscaping work; desirable criteria includes experience of fencing, paving and the application of pesticides
  • Assist with external cleaning duties – such as litter picking, sweeping, emptying of litter bins, etc…

Landscape / Arboriculture Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Landscape / Arboriculture Operative. All applicants should be committed to improving public open spaces and working with local communities across the borough to make a positive difference to a high profile and priority service of the council.

The successful candidate must be able to carry out a wide range of hard and soft landscape operations across the borough including installation of play equipment, bins benches, block paving and path and road construction. The position will be predominatly landscape orientated with a small element of Arboricultural and chainsaw operations when required. (see job description and person specification).

Street Cleaner

Keeping our neighbourhoods clean and tidy is the number one priority for the residents of our Borough. The Clean Neighbourhoods Service’s purpose is to ensure “Hinckley and Bosworth is a place with clean, tidy and litter free neighbourhoods where everyone takes responsibility for their waste and the surrounding environment”.

Start and finish times will vary between 6.30am/9:15am – 2.30pm/5:15pm depending on your cleansing team however flexibility is essential as you will be required to switch between teams when needed which may include weekend working.

The Street Cleaner position will, amongst other duties:

  • Effectively contribute to the overall success of Business, Contract and Street Scene Services
  • Undertake cleansing duties and other supported duties within the overall service
  • Work in accordance with relevant legislation, our agreed procedures and defined cleansing standards
  • The Council’s cleaning and environmental enforcement services have received independent national recognition for being amongst the best in the country over recent years and the service wishes to improve upon this position.
