Full-Time Retail position at New Baron of Hinckley

Working closely with the Head Chef, and deputising for him in his absence, you will be a key part to the team, enjoying training the junior members of staff, mentoring and showing fantastic leadership qualities.

This role would suit both an experienced Sous, or a Junior Sous looking to step up into their first Sous Chef position.

Key Responsibilities:

To assist the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen
To ensure the whole team is working to safe and legal practices
To ensure the training and standards are always kept
To ensure all products entering and leaving the kitchen are to the set pub standards
To track, replenish stock and maintain good stock rotation
To reduce shrinkage/wastage
To be aware of up to date with modern trends - being “industry aware”


Key Skills, Qualities & Experience:
The successful individual will be confident, self-motivated and present a professional persona in all circumstances
Have a high level of creativity and reliability and communication
The ability to demonstrate a strong customer service ethos and the ability to deliver consistently high levels of service delivery
A flexible approach to work is required given the nature of the hotel business
Held a similar position within a quality graded establishment
Can produce several quality references

cooking: 3 years (Preferred)

Sous Chef: 1 year (Preferred)

Salary:

21000-23000 dependent on experience with opportunities to develop

Menu planning
Food shopping
Recording food temperatures and other sheets/logs
Preparing reports

Waste Management Operatives (Loaders)
Grade 2, £18,065 up to £18,426 per annum
37 hours per week, permanent contract

We currently have two vacancies for operatives within the Waste Management Section.

Your role will include working as part of a team collecting household waste (mainly contained in wheeled bins and sacks) from properties across the borough. As part of the Street Scene Service you will, when required, participate in the wider duties of the service.

You must be physically fit, able to walk long distances each day and move wheeled bins, sacks and any other waste as required.

Applicants should be enthusiastic and committed individuals who are looking to make a difference to the high profile and priority services of the council. A current full Class B driving licence would be advantageous.

You will be expected to behave in accordance with the council’s values which include being customer focused and courteous when interacting with members of the public, whilst ensuring service standards are met.
