Families explored Hinckley town centre, discovered local businesses and won fantastic prizes in this year’s Halloween Treasure Hunt, sponsored by Holiday Lounge, Cineworld, Concordia Theatre and Hinckley & Rugby Building Society.
Hinckley BID’s Halloween Treasure Hunt has once again brought families into Hinckley town centre, encouraging children and their grown-ups to explore the streets, discover local businesses and enjoy a little Halloween adventure during the October half-term.
The free family activity invited participants to follow a trail of spooky characters displayed in business windows, collecting clues along the way before reaching the final destination at Yiayia’s Bakes, 97a Castle Street. Children who successfully completed the hunt were rewarded with a chewy sweet treat, with their completed forms also entered into a prize draw to win one of ten fantastic prizes.
This year’s trail offered a wonderful opportunity to showcase Hinckley’s evolving town centre, featuring many of its newest businesses, alongside familiar independent retailers and well-known high street names.
Among the businesses featured were Luxe Beauty at 78 Castle Street, which has recently relocated to new premises, and The Castle Cafe on The Borough, which has welcomed a new business owner. Families also visited Buttercream Tearoom at Regent Court and Ferriss Bridal at Stockwell Head.
The trail continued to the frontage of the new Card Factory at The Crescent, The Vintage Store on The Borough, The Pokebox at Stockwell Head, Caprinos Pizza at Market Place, the YMCA Charity Shop in the Britannia Shopping Centre and Quirky Decor at Crown Court, before finishing at Yiayia’s Bakes.
By encouraging families to venture beyond the main shopping streets, the activity helped shine a spotlight on the variety of independent businesses, new arrivals and familiar favourites that make Hinckley town centre such a special place to visit.
