URGENT - FREE FOOD HYGIENE TRAINING (worth £50 a person)

You may remember a previous e-mail from Hinckley BID advising that we were asked by one ‘Food & Drink’ BID member business to see if we can help with organising Food Hygiene Training for their new staff, and I am pleased to report that we have succeeded in obtaining funding for up to 20 candidates.

Through HBBC we were able to organise the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Foundation Food Hygiene Course, full details can be found here.

Their charge of around £50 per person price includes 6 hours tuition, booklet, examination fee and certificate for successful candidates. The 6 hours tuition can be delivered in one day, but they prefer to deliver in 2 x 3 hours sessions for the benefit of candidates.

If you have staff that you would like to have trained through the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Foundation Food Hygiene Course, could you please e-mail toni@hinckleybid.co.uk.

  • Their name
  • Age
  • Job Title
  • Name of your business
  • Your preferred contact e-mail

If there is sufficient demand, we will then proceed to get dates and advise you asap.

FREE FLU JAB TO PROTECT YOUR STAFF

Virtually every day the media warn of how Flu and Covid will affect us all this winter, and we know the difficulties caused to smaller businesses when essential staff become ill.

To help, the BID are preparing to arrange a date and location in Hinckley Town Centre where up to two of your key staff aged under 50 can get a flu jab which takes just a few minutes – and which will be paid for by Hinckley BID. (Anyone aged of 50 can get a free flu jab via their GP, otherwise companies like BOOTS are offering the jab at £14.99).

Several businesses have already provided details of their staff who would like the jab, and if you are interested in taking advantage of this free opportunity, could you e-mail martina@hinckleybid.co.uk by 5pm this Wednesday November 10th with your name, your company name and the names of your key staff (maximum two and must be under 50) who would like to be vaccinated. One of the BID team will then contact you again in a few days time with date, location and availability.

Many thanks, stay safe and well.

WHAT THE FREE HINCKLEY BID LOYALTY CARD CAN DO FOR YOUR BUSINESS

We are probably the only BID who can boast that they have amassed 14,000+ e-mail addresses for people within a 20 mile radius who want to receive the Monthly BID BUZZ, including 8700+ (and growing) who have requested a free individually numbered Hinckley BID Loyalty Card. At any one time there are around 70 offers to Loyalty card members available as you can see from the www.hinckleybid.co.uk website.

So how can this card help YOUR business? Any one or more of the following will attract card-holding customers:

  • Maybe give a discount – (maybe with help from a key supplier)?
  • Maybe give a little something extra with a spend over £……..
  • Maybe just make an offer on quiet days only?
  • Perhaps hold a monthly prize draw? Or anything else that you think will entice the Loyalty-card Holders to you….

At Hinckley BID, we can set-up, change or cancel an offer within minutes – at absolutely no charge no matter how often.

I have over 13 years experience at Hinckley BID and the team and I have helped many businesses with advice. If you would like to talk this over please call me on 0770 939 4841. Or simply send your Loyalty card Offer and details to martina@hinckleybid.co.uk.

If you haven’t tried this before, why not give it a go – if you find the offer isn’t having (or perhaps exceeds) the desired effect, we can amend or cancel it at any time.

OTHER NEWS

It was great news that footfall in Hinckley Town centre was up 25% in October compared with September (which itself was up on August) to 250,000.

More new businesses have now signed contracts for previously empty premises, and even more are now ‘Under Offer’ with decisions expected shortly.

Finally, just a reminder that the Xmas Lights Switch on is on Friday Nov 19th at 6.30 pm followed by Fireworks and the Tin Hat Fair - and some businesses may find it beneficial to stay open a bit later than normal.

Please remember that your BID is here to help – if you have any News or queries please contact steve@hinckleybid.co.uk
