The National Careers Service continues to support the country by bringing jobseekers closer to vacancies and giving them the tools and techniques they need to apply. To that end, the Department for Education is bringing back the Virtual Jobs Fair campaign, taking place 27-28 January.

People can get involved by:

The event is split into two days:

Day 1 (27 Jan) – Exhibition Day: A chance to hear from organisations about their opportunities, and hear the experiences of people doing the jobs; what to expect, what skills you need, and routes in. As well as other useful careers resources.

Day 2 (28 Jan) – Virtual Jobs Fair: Join your local fair to see vacancies in your area on the regional National Careers Service social media accounts and relevant jobs hour hashtags.

As well as promoting vacancies, careers advisers will be delivering webinars and workshops, giving the necessary careers advice and guidance to help jobseekers make successful applications by helping them improve their CVs and to prepare for interviews.

The timetable for the local jobs hours on 28 January is:

East Midlands Region
11.00am - 12.00pm

West Midlands & Staffordshire Region
11.00am - 12.00pm

The schedule includes speakers from organisations, such as BT and the NHS, talking about their current opportunities and holding Q&A sessions giving first-hand industry insight. The event will also have qualified National Careers Service advisers on hand throughout the day to provide advice and guidance, whether it’s talking further about the careers on display or answering any other questions you have about your next step.
