Covid Update 38

With many Hinckley Town centre Businesses open once again, others returning shortly and new businesses opening in Hinckley Town centre footfall is gradually recovering. However, we are all missing the additional Visitors brought into our Town centre through the many events which we and HBBC organise each year. Until Covid is brought further under control, unfortunately, we will not be allowed to hold events that attract a crowd.

So we have come up with a fresh idea.

We are asking our BID Members support for Hinckley BID to organise and heavily promote a "SHOP HINCKLEY HALF-TERM EVENT" starting at 9am on Monday October 19th to finish at 5pm on Saturday October 24th.

We think that many families will stay local during the October half-term and we want to entice them into Hinckley to showcase the Town and encourage customer spend.

We are planning to organise a Treasure Hunt around the Town to last all that week and ensure all BID areas are included, and we propose to award a number of £ Vouchers to be spent at any town-centre BID member business of the winners’ choice (more details in due course).

Subject to Covid regulations allowing at that time, we will also seek to provide some town centre street entertainers to create a ‘fun’ element.

Please do respond, as we need a good percentage of our Town centre businesses to support the event if it is to go ahead and be a success.
