Selling a range of homemade products, as well as scarves, cards and much more, Aspire Interiors is a one-stop shop for gifts.
The shop, based at the top of Castle Street is a treasure trove of unique, beautifully-designed products, which are ideal for presents or items to spoil yourself.
Here, we chat to owner Linda Banks about Aspire about what she most loves about Hinckley, and what she most loves about her job...
What’s your name(s) and how long have you been running for?
I’m Linda Banks and I run Aspire Interiors, which has now been trading for 11 years.
What’s your typical day like?
Putting out stock - we are constantly getting new, beautiful stock in - as well as dusting and chatting to customers. I love chatting to my customers, it always makes my day!
What can we expect from Aspire in the next few months?
New, reasonably priced products. We try to sell the best quality products at the lowest price possible - we really want our customers to be able to trust that what we offer is unique and very well priced! I also hope to be selling more of our homemade items.
What do you most love about what you do?
Serving the public, especially with an item that has been made by ourselves - that always makes me smile!
What’s your biggest seller?
Scarves and cards are always a big hit with our customers. Our scarves come in a range of colours and fabrics and are perfect for the spring months.
What’s your biggest achievement so far?
Surviving the credit crunch, which was basically a really difficult time for retailers. I’m really proud that we came through it and are now thriving!
What’s your advice for someone wanting to start their own business?
Do a great deal of research into the product you want to sell to the public. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely worth it once you have found the right thing for you!
What’s your favourite thing about Hinckley?
Castle Street, especially the fact that it is pedestrianised! I love that you can always see people wander by, and this makes it so much easier for people to pop in when they see you.
Tell us something we wouldn’t know about you…
We are a family-run business and like to sell our own handmade goods. We make plaques, decorated candles, gift boxes, wedding glasses and glasses with funny sayings on them. and we painted our vintage furniture. We also make kiddy and adult oilskin fabric aprons.
Where can people find you?
63 Castle Street, at the top end opposite Mind. Please stop by and say hi!
