Event Information

The 'family fun' element of our Shop Hinckley Half-Term event is our FREE Treasure Hunt in the town centre throughout the week, with £700 worth of prizes to be won.

Our grateful thanks goes to Jaspers (£100), F Hinds (£50) and Wilko (£40) for their generous support in donating gift voucher prizes! Hinckley BID and our wonderful town centre businesses have contributed 20 x £25 gift voucher prizes.

So, whether you're fitting in some early Christmas shopping or just entertaining the children during the half-term, you can't afford to miss out.

The Treasure Hunt can be completed with your children using your smartphone (see full instructions and purple link below), or you can simply download a print version of the entry form (also below).

The answers to the clues will be posted on the relevant shop windows throughout the week of the event, 19th to 24th October 2020. Just look out for Pirate Characters with the QR code below!

Every correct entry received will be entered in the prize draw for a share of the £700 prize pot. All entries must be received by Wednesday, 28th October and winners will be published in the first week of November in our next BID Buzz eNewsletter and on our website.

  • First Prize: £100 Jaspers Gift Voucher
  • Second Prize: £50 F Hinds Jewellers Gift Voucher
  • 20 x £25 Town Centre Gift Vouchers from a BID business of the winner's choice
  • 3 x £20 Wilko Gift Vouchers

Detailed Instructions for smartphone entries:
Start your Treasure Hunt by scanning the 'starter' QR code which can be found on our treasure hunt posters, on the top of the entry form, or on the big poster inside the Britannia Shopping Centre.

Load the app on your smartphone and follow the 12 clues. To ensure you can find all of the QR Codes, make sure your hunt is carried out between 9am - 5pm when the businesses are open. Follow the route and scan all the QR codes to uncover the treasure hidden in Hinckley Town Centre. (The trail is a circular route and you can complete it at your own pace).

  • Start your Treasure Hunt by scanning the 'starter' QR code to launch the app
  • Press start to begin your trail
  • Follow the first clue and find the Pirate character on a shop window in Hinckley Town Centre
  • Follow the instructions on screen to scan the QR code
  • Once scanned the next clue will automatically appear
  • Make sure you follow the clues correctly. If you scan an incorrect QR Code you won’t be able to move onto the next clue
  • At the end of the trail, please complete your contact details for entry to the prize draw! One entry per child, however, it is possible to submit up to 5 children's names if you are completing the trail with a small group of children.

Good luck all and Enjoy!
