Last Thursday afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg MP visited the offices of the Hinckley Town Centre Partnership to meet with 30 Town Centre Business leaders to hear firsthand about issues affecting local businesses, and this also provided him with an opportunity to feed back on the actions taken by the Coalition Government to support jobs and growth in Leicestershire.

Mr Clegg spent over an hour with the business leaders, discussing topics including: Business Rates, Absentee Landlords, the Localism Bill and City Deals. Mr Clegg complimented the Town Centre Partnership by stating that "during his visits to Town Centres throughout the country that this was the strongest Partnership that he had come across."

Jonathan White from Hinckley BID said, "we are very grateful to Mr Clegg for giving up some of his time to be with us and believe that we raised some issues that he will take back to Whitehall for consideration."
