Payment of of COVID 19 Grants

HBBC have asked us to advise all businesses as follows:

‘’We expect to be receiving Government funding to put us in a position to start issuing grants from 1st April this week. Because a number of small businesses fall below the threshold for paying business rates, we are still seeking to secure bank details from a number of them. As you will no doubt be aware, both the government and local government are concerned over the potential for fraud, we therefore need to ensure, as much as possible, secure ways of communication and payment with businesses.

It will therefore be extremely useful if you can encourage your business representatives to sign up for e-billing is https://www.hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk/mybusinessrates as this will enable us to make contact to undertake the relevant security checks and facilitate quick payment. To suit those who do not have sufficient information to sign up for e-billing - we encouraging businesses to contact us via our coronavirus business email address covid19businessrates@hinckley-bosworth.gov.uk which is being continually monitored so we can secure the relevant information, deal with any specific queries and get payments out the door as quickly as possible.“

Please ensure that your premises are secure

A Town centre store was broken into on Friday night/Saturday morning with cash being stolen.

The Police had already put extra patrols out in Hinckley but especially in these troubled times, may we remind all shops and services to leave their cash drawers open and empty, and to ensure that their premises are securely fastened.

Kind regards, stay safe and well.
