Starting Soon – The National ‘KICKSTART’ Programme

This Government initiative may be of great help to many Hinckley businesses, as well as to the young people it supports.

In a nutshell, ‘Work Placements’ are being sought for hundreds of thousands of 16-24 year olds and the Government will pay their minimum wage for 25 hours a week, every week for the 6 months placement. There are other financial Training benefits as well – up to £1500.00.

The reason for writing to you now is that you may be approached by a number of different ‘providers’ offering this scheme – and to ask you to wait for the Borough Council’s scheme to be finalised. The advantages to you will be local knowledge and all the skills that HBBC and the BID can bring to help you find the right candidate(s) should you wish to take part.

Any ‘Provider’ (such as HBBC) has to have a minimum of 30 placements gathered from all of the businesses who are interested in taking part. Hinckley BID is one of those.

Please see the linked document below for more information.
