Updated COVID Restrictions as of 14th September

The Prime Minister has set out new measures to restrict the spread of Coronavirus. The PM's statement can be found here: https://bit.ly/32epCQZ.

The new measures include the following:

From Monday 14 September it will not be possible to meet with people from other households socially in groups of more than six. This will apply indoors and outdoors, including in private homes. Education and work settings are unaffected.

Businesses will have a clear duty to support NHS Test and Trace. From Friday 18 September, it will be mandatory for certain businesses to have a system to collect NHS Test and Trace data, which must be kept for 21 days.

Specialist Help Grant Scheme

Full applications have opened today for Small Business Recovery Grants and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The 100% grants from £1,000 to £3,000
are available for specialist advice required by SMEs in Leicester and Leicestershire to adapt their businesses as a result of Covid-19. Applications are open until 30 September, or until funds are exhausted, but we advise that you apply as soon as possible.

The Growth Hub has been awarded £568,313 from the Government to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in an effort to boost recovery of the economy by providing funds to adapt their business following the crisis.

Grants from £1,000 to £3,000 are available covering 100% of costs which can be used for:

  • Advice such as accountancy, legal, HR, health & safety, IT or sector specialists; or
  • Purchase of minor equipment to adapt processes (e.g. wash station, handsfree thermometer); or
  • To adopt new technology to continue to deliver an activity or diversify in response to the virus (e.g. contactless payment systems, web development, hardware to support remote working).

An emergency road closure on Gopsall Road, Hinckley started yesterday and may last for up to 21 days to allow Severn Trent Water to repair a major water leak.
