HSE message from central Government

As we keep our fingers crossed that non-essential retail will be able to open their doors from June 1st, and many other business sectors from July 1st, it’s obviously vital to know what the statutory safety requirements are so not to break the rules which the Environmental Health Team will be randomly checking.

There are many ‘advice’ forums, but the one that matters is the HSE message from central Government: Working safely during the coronavirus outbreak – a short guide. It is suitable for all business types. Please click on the following link to view the PDF document.

Working safely during the coronavirus outbreak

Will you be open on June 1st?

We will keep you up to date with any changes, but in the meantime will be sending an e-mail to all the businesses that we think may be able to re-open from June 1st to check if you are intending to open on that date and to check a few other facts such as hours and days when you will be open. PLEASE look out for this e-mail, as the information you give us will be sent to our 14,000 consumer e-mail list to encourage footfall back into our town centre as quickly as possible.

Our Borough Council are working hard to make the Town Centre as safe as possible and prior to June 1st, when they have finalised arrangements we will send you details of the Sanitising Station locations etc.

In the meanwhile, please stay safe and well and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
