What we offer:
After-school Clubs:
Does your child love to perform? Do they love to act out scenes whilst playing different characters? Why not try something different for your child by booking their place at Grays Drama Academy’s, fun, interactive, after-school drama clubs! We are a registered Community Interest Company (CIC) and we are fully supported by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council.
Many of the existing after-school clubs are sports related and we believe it’s time to offer students and parents, something different! Our engaging/exciting, drama-based clubs are proving very popular with schools across Leicestershire and Warwickshire. As a registered CIC we are proud to offer a percentage of FREE of charge spaces to children who qualify for benefit related school meals.
Through creative drama and improvised role play, children begin to interact and blossom, improving public speaking skills, communication skills, and their ability to work as a team. Drama has also proven to be hugely beneficial to children who struggle academically, and to those who have behavioural/emotional issues. Role play has been found to be crucial for building children’s social competence, including their ability to cope emotionally.
Sessions Include: Fun introductions in character - Warm-up drama games - Role play - Character development - Improvisation - Devising mini plays from stimulus - Effective prop use - Developing stagecraft skills - Narrative Pantomime - Storytelling - Group performance and feedback.
For the louder, extrovert and boisterous pupil, we aim to provide a creative outlet for their exuberance. For the quieter, introverted pupil who may lack confidence and an ability to express themselves, we aim to provide a place where through character development and drama they can build confidence. Most of all we make sure the children have great FUN!
Our term-time after-school drama clubs are available Monday to Friday, and they are delivered by our qualified, DBS-checked, Drama Facilitators. Our sessions are tailored and adapted, to suit years Reception, 1,2,3,4,5,6, and we offer 1-hour sessions at approximately 3.20 – 4.20 pm, depending on the school's timings (all classroom based).
