Dear BID Member,
If you use postage stamps you may want to purchase some before Monday April 4th as the cost is rising.
A 1st Class stamp is going up on April 4th from 85p to 95p and the cost of a 2nd Class stamp is going up from 66p to 68p.
Also - Royal Mail is adding barcodes to its everyday postage stamps. This change includes 1st Class, 2nd Class and Large Letter stamps. The old non-barcoded versions are being phased out this year, though you can still use them until 31st January 2023.
You’ll find more information on the changes here.
Royal Mail says “Whilst the number of letters our postmen and women deliver has declined from around 20 billion a year to around 7 billion since 2004/5, the number of addresses they have to deliver to has grown by around 3.5 million in the same period… These price changes are necessary to ensure we can continue to maintain and invest in the one-price-goes-anywhere Universal Service for future generations.”

Please remember that if we can help, we always will or find somebody who may be able to assist.
Many thanks, stay safe and well.
