Clarks Back To School Appointments

School may just have broken up for the holiday, but Clarks Hinckley suggests you get organised in advance for 'back to school' shoes. There are many benefits in doing this, some of which are:

  • Secure an appointment at a time that's convenient to you
  • No need to worry about queues as you'll always be seen at the appointment time, no matter how busy the store is
  • Come early in the holidays when there is lots of stock, then have a fitting check nearer the return date and exchange if the child has grown
  • Clarks also do 'quiet time' appointments, and even after hours appointments, for children with additional needs, so the experience isn’t so overwhelming

You can either call in and speak to a member of the friendly team, phone the store or book online. Full contact details via the link below.

HDPP - Special 1782 Map Now Available

On behalf of our friends at HDPP (Hinckley District Past & Present) we are pleased to share details of a new map which they have recently reproduced and is available to purchase.

The 1782 map first appeared in a book called Nicholls History of Hinckley and it shows the early town layout that has now grown outwards. It is still very easy to recognise the street and road layout we all know and use today though.

The map is currently on sale at Jaspers store (in two sizes - A3 @ £5 and A2 @ £10), with all proceeds going to HDPP's local good causes fund. To date, HDPP has raised over £25,000 for local good causes.

Paul and Sue Gardner who run the HDPP Facebook group have worked alongside Hinckley Museum and Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council on this project.

Paul has recently been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King's Birthday Honours List. We would like to congratulate him on this well deserved award in recognition of all the valuable work he does.

Paul has kindly given a copy of the map to Hinckley BID to display in our offices on Castle street. A really kind gesture which we acknowledge with thanks.
