Hinckley's OctoBIDfest Returns for a Celebration of Beer, Food, Music and Hospitality!

Hinckley town centre is set for an afternoon and evening of beer, live music, food and fancy dress as Hinckley BID’s OctoBIDfest returns, bringing a lively festival atmosphere to Regent Street and surrounding areas, with a host of hospitality businesses taking part.

This year’s OctoBIDfest has two very different themes for visitors to choose from – Oktoberfest or the Wild West.

A selection of Hinckley’s hospitality businesses will be involved, including The Clarence, Baton Rouge, Don Fenticas, Moko and Electric Chapel, alongside other venues and traders offering food, beer and pop-up bars.

Hinckley BID Manager Helen Crouch said: “OctoBIDfest is all about creating a fantastic festival atmosphere in the town centre, with live music, food, beer and plenty of opportunity to get dressed up and have some fun.

“This year’s two themes give people a choice between embracing the Oktoberfest spirit or heading to the Wild West. We’re looking forward to seeing some fantastic costumes and welcoming visitors into the town centre for what promises to be a great afternoon and evening.”

With free entry, two live music stages, food, beer, pop-up bars and prizes for the best dressed, OctoBIDfest will bring a unique festival atmosphere to Hinckley town centre this October.

So, whether you’re reaching for the lederhosen or grabbing your cowboy hat, the choice is yours.

Record crowds and spectacular motors make Hinckley BID’s 15th Motor Show one to remember

Hinckley town centre was packed with families, motoring enthusiasts and music lovers on Sunday as Hinckley BID celebrated the 15th anniversary of its hugely popular Motor Show.

Under the theme “Motoring Through The Ages”, visitors were treated to an exceptional variety of vehicles, from historic classics and superbikes to specialist builds, replicas and spectacular performance cars.

The sunshine stayed throughout the day, with families enjoying the displays, live entertainment, food and drink, and the many town-centre businesses that opened their doors for the occasion.

Helen Crouch, Hinckley BID Manager, said:

“What an incredible day for Hinckley. To see the town centre absolutely buzzing, with families enjoying themselves, hundreds of exceptional vehicles on display and fantastic local musicians performing throughout the day, was something very special.

“Our Motor Show has always been about bringing people together and showcasing everything that makes our town centre such a great place to visit, and this year’s 15th anniversary event certainly delivered that.

“A huge thank you goes to every motorist and exhibitor who brought their vehicle or display along. The variety and quality were exceptional, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and effort that goes into preparing for the event.

Spitfire flypast cancelled due to wind

One of the much-anticipated additions to this year's anniversary celebrations was an RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire flypast.

The Spitfire was due to depart from RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire before making its planned flight over Hinckley town centre.

Unfortunately, in the final hour, the flypast was cancelled due to wind conditions.

A town centre celebration

The 15th Annual Motor Show was designed to be much more than simply a car show. With displays spread throughout Hinckley town centre, live entertainment, emergency service displays and local businesses open, the free event once again brought the community together and created a vibrant atmosphere for visitors and businesses.

Hinckley BID would like to thank everyone who attended, exhibited, performed, volunteered, sponsored and supported the event, helping make the 15th Annual Motor Show such a memorable celebration.
