Young Musicians Shine at “Britannia’s Got Talent” Live Showcase
Britannia Shopping Centre was filled with music and celebration as young performers took to the stage for the much-anticipated “Britannia’s Got Talent” showcase.
The showcase opened with an energetic set from Keysound, setting the tone for a day of high-quality live music. Students from Jo’s Piano Lessons impressed the audience with confident and expressive performances, demonstrating the results of dedicated practice and expert tuition. Sixteen-year-old music student Joshua Mole, who lives with moderate hearing loss, performs in three local bands and teaches at Junior Academy of Music (JAM), delivered a dynamic performance that captivated shoppers and shared a powerful message that resilience and determination can overcome any barrier. The momentum continued with “Pianists in the Crowd,” a delightful segment that brought spontaneous musical moments into the heart of the shopping centre. Amongst the crowd, Frank and Wilfred stepped forward and amazed spectators with a stunning performance, displaying great talent and confidence at such a young age. One of the afternoon’s standout moments came when Lucas, a student of Nicole Reynolds, performed beautifully to warm applause from the growing crowd. The event concluded with students from Pianista Music Studio, led by Maria Torres, who closed the showcase with polish, enthusiasm and undeniable talent. Families, friends and visitors gathered throughout the day to support the performers, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and celebration. The event not only showcased musical ability but also highlighted the importance of arts education within the local community. Organisers expressed their pride in all performers and extended their thanks to Keysound and participating music schools, teachers, families and supporters who made the event such a success. “Britannia’s Got Talent” once again demonstrated that the future of music is bright, with young artists showing confidence, creativity and passion on stage. Mark Stacey Beauty Lounge celebrates 10th Anniversary
A local beauty salon celebrated a major milestone as it marked 10 years in business on 19th March. The salon, owned by Stacey Keeley and Lauren Baxter, first opened its doors a decade ago. What began as a small venture has developed into a successful salon now boasting eight beauty rooms and offering more than 150 treatments to its clients. Over the past ten years, Stacey and Lauren have worked hard to build the salon into what it is today, creating a welcoming space for clients while expanding their team and treatment offering. Their journey hasn’t been without its challenges, with the business navigating particularly difficult periods including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite these obstacles, the salon has continued to grow and evolve, making the upcoming anniversary an especially meaningful achievement for the owners and their team. Celebrating ten years in business is a proud moment for Stacey and Lauren, who say the continued support from their loyal clients and the local community has played a huge part in the salon’s success. The milestone on 19th March marked not only a celebration of the past decade, but also an exciting step forward for the future of the business.

Hinckley Shoe Repairs Celebrates 80 Years of Service
A long-established and much-loved town centre business is celebrating a remarkable milestone this year as Hinckley Shoe Repairs marks 80 years since the company was incorporated on 5 April 1946. A staple of Hinckley town centre for generations, the shop has become a local institution, known for its reliable service and loyal customer base. When asked what has kept him working in the market town for so many years, owner Steve said: “The customers – I have fantastic, loyal customers.” The business was originally owned by Tommy Lewis, who employed three staff members: Don Quittington, Al Frost and Steve’s father, Frank. Frank later became a partner before eventually purchasing the business. In the early years, Steve’s uncle Sid also worked alongside his father, helping to build the strong foundations the shop still stands on today. Steve himself has worked in the shop for 52 years, having started at just 15 years old. His brother, Mark Lavender, also played a significant role in the business, working alongside him for more than 40 years. Together, the family’s dedication has been central to the shop’s long-standing success and reputation. Over the decades, Hinckley Shoe Repairs has become known for its quality workmanship and dependable service. One loyal customer summed up its enduring appeal, saying: “You’ve always got what I want.” While shoe repairs remain at the heart of the business, the shop also repairs handbags and provides a key cutting service. In addition, it offers a range of accessories including laces, shoe polish and a selection of leather goods. All repairs are carried out on the premises. As the business celebrates its 80th anniversary, there is more good news for customers: Steve has recently signed a new five-year lease, ensuring that this valued town centre service will continue for years to come.
