The seven districts of Leicestershire working together through the Lightbulb Partnership have identified a need for a pilot Housing and Respiratory Project to be delivered across the County. The project will by working with housing providers, enforcement teams and hospitals in Leicestershire to implement a consistent proactive approach to identify damp and mould hazards within households, and ensure corrective action is taken by providers.
The project will also help to develop links and pathways for service users to close any gaps in service delivery with housing and primary / secondary care. This in turn will lead to more cohesive services which will assist in the prevention of respiratory illnesses by establishing clear referral pathways and training for professionals.
The lasting legacy of the project will be greater links between public bodies and robust processes that help to reduce the likelihood of serious respiratory illnesses developing or being worsened by conditions within the home.

HBBC is seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer to work within the Private Sector Housing Team to carry out a range of private sector housing duties.
You will liaise with tenants, landlords, and other agencies; importantly you will have the opportunity and support to use the range of powers available to you to improve the housing standards and living conditions throughout the Borough.
You will need to have a sound knowledge of housing law and private sector housing issues as well as being a confident and self-motivated professional with excellent communication skills.
You will be responsible for carrying out HHSRS inspections in both single and multi-occupancy dwellings being a key player in the delivery of a proactive and reactive service to both landlords and tenants.
You must hold the HHSRS certificate and have daily access to a car and a full UK driving licence.

You will oversee the planning, organisation, and delivery of day-to-day operation of electoral services in relation to the annual electoral registration canvass; implementing new processes required by forthcoming legislation from the Elections Act; the publication of the electoral register and the maintenance of the electoral register throughout the year ensuring that all statutory requirements are met.
